Terms of Use

1.Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using Capsule (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (these “Terms”) and by the Capsule Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. The Service is built by Solis Dev, a technology studio operating under Solis Holdings Group Inc., a company incorporated under the laws of Canada. In these Terms, “Capsule”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the Service and to Solis Holdings Group Inc. as its operator and the contracting party.

2.Service Overview

Capsule is a Social Encyclopedia: a verified, classified knowledge platform on which users author capsules (concise articles on a single claim) and the community subjects each one to expert review, citation, and structured evidence. The Service also includes: Capsule Books, long-form works (such as novels, light novels, self-help books, and manga) presented with a cover and chapters for online reading; Capsule Learning, structured courses of modules and lessons that may include videos, knowledge-check quizzes, and certificates of completion; organizations and research groups through which institutions and teams collaborate and verify contributions; and community discussion, private messaging, and Vault features. The Service includes the website, mobile interfaces, and all related features.

3.Account Registration and Security

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to create an account. You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you become aware of unauthorised access, you must notify us promptly.

4.Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and in good faith. You will not: knowingly submit false or misleading content as Fact, Proven, or Theory; harass, threaten, or doxx other contributors; infringe intellectual property you do not own or have licence to use; circumvent the verification, reputation, or rate-limiting systems; submit malware, spam, or automated content at scale; or use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.

Each capsule classification (Fact, Proven, Theory, Hypothesis, Contested, Debunked) is governed by the standards described in the Policy. Misclassification, repeated submission of unverifiable claims, or coordinated manipulation are grounds for content removal and account action.

5.Content Ownership and Licensing

You retain ownership of the content you submit to Capsule. You grant Capsule a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, reproduce, display, distribute, modify (for formatting and accessibility), and communicate your content as needed to operate, promote, and improve the Service. This licence survives termination only to the extent necessary to retain content that has been cited, superseded, or otherwise integrated into the public knowledge graph.

Capsule Books are author-owned works. You retain all copyright and other intellectual property rights in any book you publish, and the licence above lets Capsule host, display, and distribute your book on the Service so readers can discover and read it. You may unpublish your book at any time, subject to the survival terms above.

You represent and warrant that, for every work you publish, you own or have obtained all rights, licences, and permissions necessary to do so, including for any text, cover art, illustrations, and other materials. You must not upload, reproduce, or distribute any book or content that infringes the copyright, trademark, moral rights, or other rights of any person, including pirated, scanned, or otherwise unlicensed copies of works you did not create. You are solely responsible for the legality of what you publish, and you agree to indemnify Capsule against claims arising from content you submit.

Copyright complaints are handled in accordance with Canada's Notice and Notice regime under the Copyright Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. C-42). A rights holder who believes content on the Service infringes their copyright may send a notice to legal@joincapsule.org, which we will process as required by law, and we may, at our discretion, remove or restrict access to the content. Capsule may remove any content, and suspend or terminate any account, that we reasonably believe infringes the rights of others or breaches these Terms.

Capsule may, in future, allow authors to offer their books for sale or to otherwise earn from their work. Any such paid features will be governed by additional terms presented at that time, including pricing, platform fees, payment processing, applicable taxes, and payout conditions. Until those terms are offered and accepted, all books are made available without charge, and publishing a book does not by itself create any entitlement to payment.

Capsule Learning courses are owned by their authors or by the organizations that publish them. You retain your rights in the course content you create, and the licence above lets Capsule host, display, and distribute it so learners can enrol and take the course. A certificate issued through Capsule Learning confirms that a learner completed a given course on the Service; it is a record of completion and is not, on its own, a formal academic or professional accreditation unless the issuing organization expressly states otherwise.

Vault content (capsules marked Private or Shared) is end-to-end encrypted in your browser before transmission. Capsule cannot read vault content: only scrambled ciphertext is ever stored or transmitted, and we hold no key that can unlock it. The licence above does not extend to vault content.

6.Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or remove specific content for violation of these Terms or the Policy, for legal compulsion, or to protect the integrity of the verification system. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal. You may close your account at any time; content you have authored may remain visible where it has been cited, edited by others, or integrated into the verified record, in accordance with the Policy.

7.Disclaimers and Liability

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Capsule classifications represent the current best assessment of evidence; they are not warranties of truth. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Capsule disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

8.Modifications to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Service and, where reasonable, by email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the revisions.

9.Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Manitoba, Canada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
